Debs Do’s & Dont’s

1. Do have fun.

You’ve spent all year preparing fo this night and it’s sad to admit that it’s probably the last time you will see most of your friends. So relax and enjoy every second. It will be over before you know it.

2. Don’t overdo the makeup.

Your dress, the shoes, the hairstyle and everything else that goes with it will be more than enough to have you looking like a celeb on your big night. Don’t cover your face in makeup that you would never normally wear. Stick to your usual “going out” look.

3. Do accessorize,

its not often we get to dress up like debs night so take full advantage. Add some sparkle to your night with a nice bracelet and some drop earrings.

4. Don’t drunk dial/tweet/text!

All declarations of love or hate can wait until the next morning. 3am is never good time to update your relationship status without telling your supposed “other half”.

5. Do take pictures.

Memories fade but photographs won’t so make sure to get some snaps of you and all your friends. You’re never going to want to forget this night.

6. Don’t take a massive handbag.

There actually is no need to bring the entire contents of your make up case or the kitchen sink. A clutch that won’t get in the way during the night is much more sufficient. You’ll find that most of the deb’s organisers will have everything you need.

7. Do wear high heels,

at least for the start of the night. The majority of your classmates will be so to keep up with them (height wise) for photographs and the grand entrance slip on some nice heels.

8. Don’t, however, be afraid to slip them off

again just as easy and purchase a pair of flats that will go just as nice with your dress when you’re on the dance floor and save your feet from the pain.

9. Don’t be afraid to stand out.

Make sure your class mates remember you for all the right reasons and chose a dress that describes you.

10. Do wear underwear.

Need we say any more.

11. Don’t feel like you need to bring a date.

Friends can be just as much fun on the night and a whole lot less stressful.

12. Do ditch the drama.

It's neither the time nor the place to tell that girl what you really think of her dress or about the time you saw her bloke cheating on her! Just enjoy the night with your friends and the people you love.

14. Don’t mix your drinks.

It’s a long night and you don’t want to spend it in the bathroom, or worse a taxi home, so stick to one main drink if possible.

15. Do stick to your original plan!

If you’ve decided you wont be kissing that guy/girl you used to date again or your not going to fight with your ex bestie then remind yourself of this during the night to avoid any unnecessary drama!

16. Do eat your dinner!

You’ve paid for it haven’t you? And you can get back to mingling as soon as dinner is finished so might as well have the spuds while they're hot!
