Form submissions you send us through our website, including the IP address they were sent from, are automatically and permanently deleted after 3 years.

First party cookies
We deem these as being strictly necessary to the working of the website.
Session cookie:
Our website runs on a Content Management System and cookies are used to store basic data on your interactions with the system, and whether you have logged in. We use a session cookie to remember your log-in for you if you are a registered user. The session data stored on our server includes your IP address and is deleted when the session ends. If these cookies are disabled then various functionality on the site will be broken.

Voting cookies:
When you vote in the Best Dressed competition, we set the following cookies on your device:
- Device cookie: a random identifier that lets us apply the voting limits to your browser. It contains no name or contact details and expires after 12 months.
- Vote cookie: records that you have voted for a contestant, so the vote button shows the right state. It expires as soon as you are able to vote for that contestant again.
- Ready cookie: confirms that a vote was sent from our voting page. It expires after 1 day.
These cookies are necessary for voting to work and to keep the competition fair. See section 3 for how voting information is used and how long it is kept.
Third party cookies
These are cookies set on your machine by external websites whose services are used on this site. Cookies of this type are the sharing buttons across the site that allow visitors to share content onto social networks. Cookies might be set by LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google in order to implement these buttons and connect them to the relevant social networks and external sites. These buttons use scripts from domains outside of our website. You should be aware that these sites are likely to be collecting information about what you are doing all around the internet, including on this website.
Google Analytics:
We use Google Analytics to collect information about visitor behaviour on our website. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. This Analytics data is collected via a JavaScript tag in the pages of our site and is not tied to personally identifiable information. We therefore do not collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are. Your IP address is anonymised and Google Analytics never stores or transfers your full IP address.

(3) Best Dressed competition
What we record when you vote
Each time you vote, or try to vote, we record:
- the date and time, and the contestant you voted for
- your IP address (the address of your internet connection)
- the random device identifier stored in your device cookie
- your browser and device type, as reported by your browser
Our web server also records technical details of every request made to our website, including your IP address, browser and the pages you visited.
Why we record it
We use this information only to run the competition fairly and to protect our website:
- to apply the voting limits per device and per internet connection
- to detect and remove votes cast by automated tools or other methods that get around those limits
- to investigate complaints and questions about the voting
- to protect our website from attacks and misuse
We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a fair competition and keeping our website secure. We do not use voting information for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not publish it. When we explain the outcome of our checks, we only share summaries that do not identify any individual voter.
Who can see it
Voting information is only accessible to our own staff who run the competition, and to our hosting provider, who stores it on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We delete all voting records and related logging data once a year, as soon as the competition is over.
(4) Using your personal information
Personal information submitted to us via this website will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website.
We may use your personal information to:
- (a) administer the website
- (b) improve your browsing experience by personalising the website
- (c) enable your use of the services available on the website
- (d) send you general (non-marketing) commercial communications
- (e) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested
- (f) send to you marketing communications relating to our business where you have specifically agreed to this, by email (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications)
- (g) provide third parties with statistical information about our users, but this information cannot be used to identify any individual user
- (h) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to the website
- (i) run the Best Dressed competition fairly, as described in section 3
Where you submit personal information for publication on our website, we will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the license you grant to us. Information published on the website is available on the internet around the world, and we cannot prevent the use or misuse of such information by others.

We may disclose information about you to any of our employees, officers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes as set out in this privacy policy.

Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not provide your information to third parties.
We operate in Ireland. Where any of our service providers process personal information outside the European Economic Area, this only happens in countries covered by an EU adequacy decision, such as the United Kingdom, or with US companies certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
(6) Security of your personal information
We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.
We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure password and firewall protected servers.
Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. We will not ask you for your password (except when you log in to the website).

We may update this privacy policy from time to time by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
(8) Your rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to:
- (a) access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it

- (c) have your information deleted, where we no longer have a valid reason to keep it

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 10. There is no charge. We will respond within one month, which may be extended by up to two further months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you why. We may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Some rights are not absolute. For example, we may keep voting records until the competition is over where this is necessary to apply the voting rules fairly to all contestants, or where we need information to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If we cannot fully meet a request, we will explain why.
